The Biologist launches dedicated website

Posted by on August 12, 2013

Society of Biology's magazine The BiologistBy Tom Ireland, managing editor of the Society of Biology‘s magazine ‘The Biologist

The Biologist now has its own dedicated website, providing a much easier way for members and subscribers to access the best of the magazine’s content.

Nearly two years’ worth of back issues are available as PDFs in the site’s Archive section, while the latest news, features, interviews and book reviews will be available on the site as each issue is published.

You’ll need to be a member of the Society or a subscriber to see most of the content, but our news section and reviews of the latest biology books are free to all.

In the new issue, with members today, we have features on taxidermy, toxicology, life at earth’s extremes (including a fungus that is thriving in the radioactive wreckage at Chernobyl) and a special report on why the trend for urban beekeeping may not be such a good thing for the UK’s honey bees.

We’d love to hear what you think of the new site – please contact our editorial team to tell us what you think. Also, if you’re interested in getting your writing publish, we love to publish submissions from researchers, working scientists and budding science writers. If you’ve got an idea for an article you could have your name in print (and online!) in no time.
